Paula Andrea García: Communicating to Transform with a Human-Centered Approach

From Migration to Professional Reinvention: Turning Experience into a Tool to Empower Brands and People
– Strategic Communication, Culture, and Social Projects: A Communicator’s Commitment to Creating Real Impact
Paula Andrea García

Paula Andrea Díaz García is an audiovisual communicator and content strategist with over 17 years of experience in media and audiovisual production. Her story mirrors that of thousands of migrant women who, upon leaving their country, begin a deep process of reinvention.

“Starting from scratch in a new place led me to reconnect with my essence. I discovered that everything I knew had immense value: helping people and brands tell their stories with clarity, emotion, and strategic vision,” she explains.

With her audiovisual expertise and passion for storytelling, Paula found her purpose when she realized that many social and professional initiatives had valuable stories but didn’t know how to communicate them to create real impact. Today, she combines her technical experience with digital tools and authentic narratives to inspire, open doors, and spark transformative conversations.

Social Innovation and Dance as Engines of Change

For her, social innovation means using creativity, communication, and media not just to sell, but to change realities, mobilize people, and build community. From her perspective as a migrant woman, it is also an act of resistance and adaptation: “It’s about putting your talent at the service of something bigger, amplifying voices and causes that deserve to be heard.”

Among the projects she highlights is DOEACTUA 2025, where, in addition to giving a talk on strategic communication for social enterprises, her studio La Huella de Armstrong awarded Art al Balcó, an initiative that turns balconies into art galleries to showcase local painters. Another milestone was leading the PR strategy for Tren al Sur, the first Colombian film showcase in Alicante, driven by the Colombian diaspora to promote migrant culture. “These projects confirmed for me that communication can be a powerful tool for social transformation,” she says.

Dance also holds a key place in her life. Through her project Programa encontrArte, she created experiential workshops where dance became a channel for self-knowledge, connection, and emotional healing for migrant women. “It helped me transform my emotions during migration, and I saw how, for other women, it also became a bridge to hold on and move forward.”

Looking Ahead: Communicating with Human Impact

Regarding artificial intelligence, Paula sees it as an ally for content creation and automation, but insists its ethical use is non-negotiable: “AI should not replace the human voice, but amplify it, always respecting the communicator’s authenticity and purpose.”

As for the challenges faced by women in communication and audiovisual fields, she highlights the need for greater visibility and representation with their own voice, beyond being mere executors. However, she sees a promising future: “Today, technology allows us to create our own platforms and tell stories from our realities, with freedom and purpose.”

Looking ahead to the next five years, her aspiration is clear: to establish herself as a reference in human-centered strategic communication and become a bridge for others, especially women, to achieve visibility and authority through authentic narratives. Additionally, she is excited to create training programs and collaborate with social and cultural organizations to multiply the impact of her work.
